2011 Japan Cup - The Locks Picks The Winners

Sunday is the Japan Cup.   Its one of the world's premier races along with the BC Classic, Prix L'Arc de Triomphe, and the Dubai World Cup.   As being one of the world's top races, the field features some of the best.   L'Arc de Triomphe winner, Danedream and the Dubai World Cup winner, Victorie Pisa will line up.   The field also featuers Tosen Jordan is the recent winner of the Tenno Sho Autumn in record time and Rose Kingdom, once Japan's 2yo champion and last year's winner of this race.   Another top contender is Buena Vista is a horse that has gone off as favorite and has finished in the money in each of its 19 starts on Japanese soil except one.

The Locks likes:

Rose Kingdom won this race via DQ last year and this year is going off 9th favorite despite a recent 2400m win.   RK has been successful at Tokyo Race Course and has never been out of the money going 2400m.   Buena Vista is the most consistent horse at the top level in Japan - won the race last year but was DQd.  Win Variation has won at distance and the track but has a couple of runner-up finishes in top G1 races.   Pelusa has top jock Nori-san and comes off a show finish in the Tenno Sho Autumn with a top closing time.
